How can you network through the EPICUR Hubs?

You can connect and collaborate with researchers, students and regional stakeholders from across the EPICUR Alliance through the EPICUR Hubs in several ways:

  • Join Networking Groups to discuss specific topics, exchange knowledge and explore possibilities for collaboration with others
  • Find and participate in online and on-site EPICUR events, as well as external events (e.g. offered by other European university alliances), and view materials from past events
  • Use the Research Opportunities Portal to find or post research stays, research internships or master's thesis topics

Citizen Science Offerings during the KIT Science Week
On October 17, 2025, the EPICUR “Lifelong Learners” initiative at KIT offers a two-part program in TRIANGEL Transfer, Karlsruhe: a morning workshop (9:00–12:30) titled “From Idea to Impact – including EU Funding Strategies!”, where researchers, educators, NGOs, policymakers, and support staff gain hands‑on guidance for integrating Citizen Science into projects and EU proposals using the CoAct toolkit, plus facilitated discussions on best practices. The afternoon session (13:30–15:30) features 20-minute one-on-one consultations with experts Josep Perelló, Anne Kathrine Overgaard, and Thomas Kaarsted to refine project concepts, followed by a guided tour of regional Citizen Science initiatives at the MobiLab near the Natural History Museum.

Postdoc Appreciation Week Germany – KHYS Postdoc Office @ KIT
Are you a postdoc or about to begin your postdoc journey? Join us for a week of career-enhancing events from 15–19 September 2025 (online and on-site at KIT, Karlsruhe). Dive into focused talks and workshops that guide your next steps—from securing funding to refining your application materials and developing professional confidence. Engage with peers and experts, and elevate your postdoc journey in a collaborative and supportive environment. Priority is given to KIT postdocs (KHYS members), with online formats open to all external participants across Germany.

PhD course: SDU PhD Sustainability Academy
Are you a PhD student passionate about sustainability? Join the SDU PhD Sustainability Academy (22–24 Sept 2025, Campus Odense) and apply your research to real-world challenges. Over three days, work on sustainability cases from think tanks and businesses, connect with industry experts, and expand your professional network. Priority is given to SDU PhD students, with limited spots for external participants via waiting list.
Deadline: 15 Sept 2025 at 12:00

ECTS: 0.5/day or 2 for full participation

Online Workshop "Connecting the dots: Pathways for initiating interdisciplinary problem solving" (25th June 2025, 9:00 - 13:00 CET)
For researchers interested in interdisciplinary collaboration, it can be challenging to find meaningful starting points for conversations with colleagues from other fields, especially when working on different topics or projects. In this workshop, we will delve into various approaches for initiating research collaboration. As a benefit, you will acquire practical thinking tools for identifying research connections. We will also address some of the typical challenges that can arise when connections are explored or investigated in joint research.

This online workshop is offered by the KIT Graduate School Cultures of Knowledge (CuKnow) and is open to PhD/doctoral candidates across EPICUR. Contact: coordination@cuknow.kit.edu

EPICUR Forum 2025: Sustainable Transformation (2nd - 3rd June 2025)
Join us in Odense, Denkmark, for this year's EPICUR Forum to strengthen your international network, exchange ideas and develop joint research and learning elements focusing on Sustainable Transformation. EPICUR academic staff, researchers and administrative staff involved in pedagogical development, as well as associated partners, regional stakeholders and members of other alliances are invited to participate.
