It’s been a few months since our exciting launch. Thank you again to everyone who joined the kick-off event in April and shared feedback through the post-event survey!
Here are the latest EPICUR Hubs updates & upcoming opportunities:

Engage in the EPICUR Hubs Networking Groups
Connect with peers across Europe to exchange ideas, share resources and showcase your work.
  • Join the Sustainable Transformation group to discover events, share publications, and meet like-minded researchers.

  • Support for joint research and teaching projects across EPICUR partner universities—apply now to build lasting collaborations! Deadline: September 4

Save the Date: October 14-17 – KIT Science Week & Urban Transformation Conference
Join us in Karlsruhe for this year’s main in-person Hubs event! Highlights include:
  • Explore the various offerings of the KIT Science Week
  • Urban Transformation scientific conference, featuring Eucor workshops for Early Career Researchers on Oct. 14 – Register here by October 10 (Attendance is free for PhD candidates & students!)
  • Citizen Science Offerings hosted by EPICUR & KIT Graduate School CuKnow of the KIT Center Humans & Technology:
    • Citizen Science Workshop hosted by EPICUR, featuring experts Josep Perelló, Anne Kathrine Overgaard and Thomas Kaarsted. Learn how Citizen Science bridges research and society, explore how to incorporate it into EU funding proposals and develop project ideas using the CoAct toolkit.
    • Book a 1:1 consultation with a Citizen Science expert to further develop your project idea

FRIAS Fellowship Programmes – University of Freiburg
  • Looking to deepen your research in an international, interdisciplinary setting? Apply for a FRIAS Fellowship and join a vibrant academic community at the University of Freiburg. Open to researchers at all career stages! Deadline: September 12
SDU PhD Sustainability Academy, September 22-24 – University of Southern Denmark
  • Join fellow PhD candidates and researchers in Odense for a three-day conference focused on sustainability research and interdisciplinary collaboration. Register here by September 15
EPICUR Hubs Kick-Off Recap (April 8)
  • 287 registered | 225 attended
  • 67 visits to the Virtual Space
  • 50 joined the networking session
  • Feedback was very positive! You asked for more time and focus in networking—so we’re planning additional virtual sessions this autumn and winter.
