In the LAS-inspired European Tracks, key competences and transversal skills are fostered both implicitly in thematic courses and explicitly in several courses that are available for skill-development across the European Tracks. These courses target critical thinking, communication, intercultural competence, and the ability to reflect on science and knowledge.

In EPICUR, course selection and learning outcomes in these core, "Key Competence" courses derive from targeted competences.
