CS Teaching Programme
EPICUR MOOC Introduction to Citizen Science
In January 2026, an innovative online course for doctoral researchers was launched, introducing Citizen Science (CS) to PhD candidates, with the purpose of enabling them to resort to CS as an added value for their thesis and further research. The Institute for Technology Assessment and Systems Analysis (ITAS) offers this practice-oriented MOOC in cooperation with the EPICUR partner universities Université de Haute-Alsace (UHA) and Université de Strasbourg (Unistra) - Open University of Strasbourg (OPUS) project.
The course consists of two modules with a total of around 10 hours of learning time. The modules are asynchronous, allowing flexible learning - ideal for your individual schedule. In addition to quizzes all along the way, one of the practical exercises from this MOOC consists of a reflection sheet enabling the learner to think about the acquired knowledge and about possible ways to put it into practice.
Here's a sneak peek at the course!
